Beth Bloom presented on Remote Civil Jury Trial Concerns and Misconceptions

On February 23, 2021, Beth Bloom will present on the topic “Remote Civil Jury Trials: Concerns & Misconceptions” as part of the Conference of Chief District Judges & Lawyer Representatives Coordinating Committee. In this presentation, Beth will discuss how courts are adapting to the changes in proceedings and address concerns and misconceptions regarding witness credibility assessment and the attention span of jurors when participating in a remote trial. She also will outline the pros of the virtual setting, including cost and time savings as well as easier review of key documents and exhibits and, most importantly, eliminating a backlog of cases by proceeding with remote trials.
