Bloom Law PLLC | Seattle, WA

Bloom Law PLLC is a Civil Rights firm that represents individual employees in discrimination, retaliation, and harassment cases. We build cases to win in front of juries. Our Litigation Associates manage caseloads with meaningful autonomy under mentorship from experienced, award-winning attorneys.

About the Role

As Litigation Associate, you help carry the case through litigation and trial:

  • Litigation. Drive written discovery. Take and defend depositions. Coordinate on litigation strategy. Draft and argue motions.
  • Trial Advocacy. Prepare cases for trial in coordination with supervising attorney. Evaluate cases referred to our firm for trial. Participate as a member of the trial team.
  • Client-Centered Advocacy. Provide client-focused service, with sensitivity to the demands of litigation and the needs of our diverse clientele. Aim to exceed client expectations every day.

Firm Leadership & the Partnership Track

This role is built to grow into partnership. We are looking for someone who leads with an owner’s mindset — weighing the firm’s needs alongside their own docket. The position begins as an associate/senior associate/non-equity role with a clear, good-faith path to equity ownership as the relationship and the firm grow.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 or more years of litigation experience, particularly in individual discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and accommodation employment cases. We do not do class action work.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, with the judgment to advise clients and evaluate merit, damages, and strategy.
  • A genuine commitment to workers’ rights, and comfort in a small, feminist, equity-minded, woman-owned firm.
  • Interest in ownership: someone who wants to help build the firm and grow toward partnership.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar (or eligibility and willingness to obtain admission promptly).

Schedule & Expectations

Full-time, based in our Eastlake neighborhood office in Seattle. Three to four days in office ideal as we perform best when we collaborate in person. Some flexibility for remote work is available. Available weekdays during business hours, with (rare) evenings and weekends as case demands require. Minimum 1,600 productive hours annually; CLE attendance counts toward the billable-hour expectation. Active participation in CLE and business development is expected and supported.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000-$120,000 plus discretionary bonuses.
  • Three weeks paid vacation; eleven paid holidays; two weeks paid sick leave.
  • Health insurance for you, with the option to add family members.
  • 401(k) with firm match, dollar for dollar up to 4% of salary.
  • Firm-paid malpractice insurance and WSBA bar dues.
  • Annual CLE budget, credited toward the billable-hour expectation.
  • Remote-work equipment provided.
